1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Synod ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and KekwanuLabs ("we," "us," or "our").
2. Description of Service
Synod is an AI-powered coding assistant that orchestrates multiple language models to provide adversarially-verified code solutions. The Service includes:
- The Synod CLI (command-line interface)
- The Synod Cloud API
- The Synod web dashboard
- Related documentation and support
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use Synod. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
4. Account Registration
To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Synod only for lawful purposes related to software development. You may NOT:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or overload the Service
- Generate malicious code, malware, or exploits
- Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
- Share your account with others
- Resell access to the Service without authorization
- Use the Service to compete with Synod
- Scrape, crawl, or data-mine the Service
- Use the Service for non-coding purposes (general chat, content generation, etc.)
6. Intellectual Property
Your Content
You retain all rights to your code and queries. We do not claim any ownership or license to the inputs you provide or the outputs you receive. Your code remains yours.
Our Service
The Synod platform, including its design, features, and documentation, is owned by KekwanuLabs. The Synod CLI is open-source under the MIT License. The Synod Cloud backend is proprietary.
7. API Keys and BYOK
When using Bring Your Own Keys (BYOK) mode:
- You are responsible for your own API key costs with third-party providers
- You must comply with each provider's terms of service
- We encrypt your keys but you assume responsibility for any misuse
- You can revoke access at any time by removing your keys
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Important Notice
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. AI-GENERATED CODE MAY CONTAIN ERRORS, BUGS, SECURITY VULNERABILITIES, OR INACCURACIES. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING AND TESTING ANY CODE BEFORE USE IN PRODUCTION. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL BE CORRECT, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSES.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KEKWANULABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Damages arising from code errors or AI inaccuracies
- Service interruptions or downtime
- Third-party actions or security breaches
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KekwanuLabs from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights.
11. Service Tiers and Billing
Synod offers multiple service tiers:
- Free: Limited debates, models, and memory. Subject to rate limits.
- Pro: Unlimited debates, more models, unlimited memory. Billed monthly.
- Team: Everything in Pro, plus team features. Billed monthly.
- Enterprise: Custom pricing and features. Contact us.
Paid subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
